Stained Glass Garden Ladder Workshop
Learn how to use traditional stained glass techniques to make a glass Garden Ladder to display in your garden.
Garden ladders are a good way to add colour to your garden all year around. They look especially good placed amongst leafy plants.
The techniques you will learn are those used by generations of stained glass makers.
How will the day look?
The day will begin at 10.00 am with a simple introduction to the process. You can then either choose a design from our templates, or create your own simple design. Using a maximum of 8 sections of glass to your design.
We will then practice cutting glass. Before choosing from the array of glass colours and textures for your creation. The pieces are cut to your design, ready to be held together with lead came and metal for staking in the ground.
There will be a break for lunch….please bring with you a packed lunch. We are unable to offer refreshments at this time but feel free to bring your own.
After lunch we will begin the lead work and soldering and then final cementing your creation all together. We aim to finish around 2.30pm but happily work until 3pm to allow for any finishing off.
This is a great experience if you are looking for something to do with some friends or family. Maybe you just want to try something new, perhaps create a piece for a special gift. Or a warm up to one of our more advanced workshops.
Whatever your reason for coming, you can be sure you will have of fun and creativity!
What to know…
You do not have to have any creative experience or previous knowledge of glass. Just come along and enjoy the process and I bet you will be surprised at the results.
The classes are always small with no more than 5 students in the group so you are guaranteed full support and advice throughout the session. And I am happy to take group bookings also, please get in touch to discuss. If booking for under 12 years adult supervision is required. Our standard workshops are currently recommended for 16 + years.
Our workshops are generally undertaken standing, but seating can be arranged if needed.
What’s included in the price?
The price is fully inclusive of all glass, tuition and materials to create your piece.
I teach a maximum of 5 students at a time for this particular workshop. However if you are interested in a larger group booking contact me and we can arrange something.
The session fee includes materials and tuition.
Your place will be confirmed on payment of booking. Cancellation will incur a £20 fee, if less than 7 days notice given. However if you/we can fill your space, then full refund will be due.
On the day please be prompt, perhaps a few minutes early.
I reserve the right to cancel the course if I need to with as much notice as possible to you. With no liability for other cost such as accommodation or travel
Course is currently only suitable to students over 16 years of age. Not recommended for pregnant or breast feeding mothers.
Please wear comfortable, closed toe shoes and old clothes. We are not responsible for any injuries that may happen on the course. And we are not hold liable for your safety.
We are unable to offer refreshments at this time, but feel free to being your own. We suggest in a container with a lid. If a longer session, ie full day please bring a packed lunch.

Commissions
After initial contact and discussion we can then determine the length of time the commission will
take and we will get back to you with a quote. A deposit will be required of 50% of the total cost once you have agreed to the piece being made. As each
piece is hand made to order your quote for the item will be valid for 14 days and we reserve the right to alter prices prior to your confirmation due to
possible fluctuation of metal and material costs.
Returns/discalimer
We have taken a lot of care to make sure the items are described as accurately as possible and that he pictures are shown as clearly and precisely as possible. As all the items on the site are handcrafted, we cannot be liable for any disparity in the nature or character of any of the pieces. Images are not to scale so please contact us if you need further information,other than the descriptions detailed with each piece.
Cancellations of an order
Your payment of the deposit is your commitment and agreement for the bespoke order. No alterations can be made once the deposit has beenpaid and accepted. Therefore, If you decide to cancel the order for any reasonthe deposit is forfeited.
Taxes
The possible customs duties or taxes applied outside the UK is out of our control and is therefore the customer’s responsibility.
