Stained Glass Garden Ladder Workshop

Learn how to use traditional stained glass techniques to make a glass Garden Ladder to display in your garden.

Garden ladders are a good way to add colour to your garden all year around. They look especially good placed amongst leafy plants.

The techniques you will learn are those used by generations of stained glass makers.

How will the day look?

The day will begin at 10.00 am with a simple introduction to the process. You can then either choose a design from our templates, or create your own simple design. Using a maximum of 8 sections of glass to your design.

We will then practice cutting glass. Before choosing from the array of glass colours and textures for your creation. The pieces are cut to your design, ready to be held together with lead came and metal for staking in the ground.

There will be a break for lunch….please bring with you a packed lunch. We are unable to offer refreshments at this time but feel free to bring your own.

After lunch we will begin the lead work and soldering and then final cementing your creation all together. We aim to finish around 2.30pm but happily work until 3pm to allow for any finishing off.

This is a great experience if you are looking for something to do with some friends or family. Maybe you just want to try something new, perhaps create a piece for a special gift. Or a warm up to one of our more advanced workshops.

Whatever your reason for coming, you can be sure you will have of fun and creativity!

What to know…

You do not have to have any creative experience or previous knowledge of glass. Just come along and enjoy the process and I bet you will be surprised at the results.
